Strategys Bitcoin Metrics So Far 2025

Strategy, the worlds first and largest Bitcoin treasury company, as well as the largest independent, publicly traded business intelligence firm. It uses three internal indicators to track its Bitcoin approach: BTC Yield, BTC Gain, and BTC $ Gain. These tools are not the standard accounting measures but internal tools to show how capital deployment affects Bitcoin exposure per share.

The BTC yield measures the percentage increase in Bitcoin held compared to the diluted shares. On April 28, the companys year-to-date BTC yield was 13.7%, with 11% recorded in Q1. The BTC Gain shows how much Bitcoin the percentage increase equals. In the first quarter, it sits at 49,131 BTC and 61,497 BTC so far this year. BTC $ Gain then converts that figure into dollars, which would be about $5.8 billion if we use the Bitcoin price on April 28, which is $95,000.

The company also took a $5.9 billion unrealized loss after Bitcoin dropped to $82,445 at the end of the quarter. But as the price rose to around $97,300, Strategy expects an $8 billion gain in Q2. By March 31, it held 528,185 BTC, bought for $35.6 billion, now worth $43.5 billion, with an average cost of $67,457 per coin.
