New Block Job Postings Reveal More Details On Jack Dorsey’s Bitcoin Plans

Block job postings reveal Jack Dorsey’s #Bitcoin plans
Holding true to its promises made last year, #Block plans to develop open-source Bitcoin mining systems and hardware wallets in 2022.

The newly rebranded Jack Dorsey initiative, Block, posted two job opportunities on LinkedIn yesterday. The new roles are in line with Dorsey’s previously publicized plans for Bitcoin.

• One of the roles, Custom Digital Design Lead, “will be part of the custom silicon team in Block that develops bitcoin mining ASIC,” according to their LinkedIn post.
• The role calls for working with digital and mixed signal designers to “develop the next generation mining ASIC.”
• The other role, Global Fulfillment & Logistics Lead, Hardware Wallet, will surround the long discussed Dorsey Bitcoin wallet. 
• The stated goal of the project is developing a wallet “for the next 100 million” Bitcoin users. Meaning, it’s not geared toward the already converted Bitcoin users.
• Block recently rebrand from Square, though square remains as one of the companies under the Block umbrella. For more on the confusing rebrand, click here.
• Block also recently announced their tbDex. Though, details are still light on how exactly the DEX will operate in light of the Bitcoin taproot upgrade.
