VeeFriends & Book Games?
Even if you are not involved with NFTs you probably are more than likely familiar with Gary Vaynerchuk (GaryVee). Last May, GaryVee launched his VeeFriends (VF) collection via Dutch auction starting at 3ETH. Fast Forward 10 months and now the 10K collection is a blue-chip, must have NFT and currently holds a floor of 14 ETH.
Although the overall floor for VeeFriends is 14 ETH, some of the rare, more sought after ones within the collection have a much higher floor. Each VF holds its own unique utility and access. An example of difference in floor price is the Diamond Spectacular trait, which has a floor of 34 ETH. It was also given the honor of their new PFP on their official VF Twitter account.
In late August of 2021, GaryVee announced the pre launch of his new book “Twelve and a Half: Leveraging the Ingredients Necessary For Business Success“. This launch had a bit of a twist, if you bought 12 books you were eligible for a FREE NFT airdrop. There were not many details given about the NFT, other than it would be a part of his VeeFriends family/collection. With the success of VeeFriends and the general success GaryVee has, this was enough for people to place orders in record numbers. Within 24 hours, Twelve and a Half had over 1 million pre-orders.
Fast Forward to January of this year, these NFTs became less mysterious and they started getting airdropped. They used Immutable X (Layer 2), to avoid gas fees and launched their Book Games (BG) on Token Trove. The 120,000+ Book Game Tokens were airdropped to all eligible wallets and the Book Games seemed to of begun.
BG tokens are 16 drawings encased in one of five VeeFriends Spectacular rarities and framed in one of 15 randomly generated frames. All the possible combinations created 1,200 different Book Game token rarity types.

Book Game Utility?
Book Game Tokens have started to gain major utility, especially as of late. One of the first utilities for your new BG token was to burn tokens within their exchange. These could potentially be burned for blue-chip NFTs, collectible cards, and other items. As of the last week, their utility has ramped up and the floor price is reflecting the news.
Less than two weeks ago, VeeFriends announced more details about their highly anticipated VeeFriends series 2. Yes, you guessed it, your Book Game token could be your ticket to their “Friendlist” to mint series 2 or even for one of the new 15 characters getting released. Along with the BG being a potential ticket to their new series, they also announced burning certain BG tokens for VeeCon tickets. The inaugural VeeCon will take place in Minneapolis, MN this May 19-22.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for BG utility. GaryVee mentioned this is just the beginning of Book Games and he has a lot more in store.
Where & How To Buy?
I will list below where and how to buy each of the NFT collections GaryVee offers.
- VeeFriends: As mentioned, these sold out last year, but they can be purchased on the secondary market. You can find their official OpenSea page here. Remember, each VF holds a different utility, so be sure to DYOR before buying.
- Book Games: These have all been airdropped, but can also be found on the secondary market. However, these WILL NOT be on OpenSea, they will ONLY be available on Token Trove. Since this is an L2, you can use ETH, it will just need to be transferred to your Immutable X wallet. Just like VF, each BG token holds a different utility and value. Overall floor price has been around .4 ETH this week but varies depending on the token rarity.
- VeeFriends Series 2: These are coming soon, but the details on how they will be allocated has been released. There will be 55,000 total NFTs and they will be priced under $1K. A lot of these will go to friendslist/whitelist. BG does give you a chance to be picked for Series 2 friendslist. 32K of the 123K Book Game tokens will be randomly selected for friendslist to mint Series 2. Any unclaimed Series 2 from the friendslist will then be reserved for public sale.
GaryVee has taken the NFT market by storm and he seems to just be getting started. Book Games may be a nice entry to enter the VeeFriend eco-system, especially if you are picked for Friendlist.
