Chicken Derby’s live beta kicked off this week and these Chickens are out of the coop and racing for coin. Today, we have you covered with the latest news and notes.

What is Chicken Derby?
Chicken Derby should not be new to CRU readers, as we wrote about the blockchain game during their mint last August. Fast forward 6 months and these Chickens are finally racing for some coin in their Chicken Derby. Their live beta was released on 3/14 and they have already handed out over 80K in USD to race winners.
Brought to you by Bitlovin the creators of Ganja Farmer, Chicken Derby is an exciting P2E game where you own and race your Chicken to earn ETH. The Polygon-based NFT collection consists of 33K Chickens and each Chicken holds its own unique stats, traits, and racing skills, that become vital when racing.
Each Chicken will fall under 1 of 4 Heritages; Dorking, Lakenvelder, Sultan & Serama. Serama is the rarest, as there are only 2k of this Heritage within the collection of 33K. Heritage is a great starting spot when searching for your Chicken to race, but it is not the sole indicator to look at when shopping. Each Chicken holds a Perfection Score too, which will vary based on their traits, Heritage & talents. Certain colors, combinations & accessories can result in increased value when racing. Each perfection score can range from 1%-100%, however, the original 33K will have a perfection score no lower than 90%.
OPEN BETA LIVE NOW! Let's get racing! https://t.co/BKCVIbazF4 ??????

Chicken Races:
The Chicken races take place via their Chicken Derby website, which can be found here. After connecting your wallet that holds your Chicken or coop of Chickens, you may start to enter races. Each race has different buy in amounts and different Chickens racing, so you are free to check all available races.
You are limited to two Chickens max per race and they also must meet the “Pecking Order” criteria to enter each race. Once you find your race and the Chicken you would like to use, you will confirm the transaction. For paid races, your MetaMask will open and you will need to sign the contract to confirm your payment for your entry fee.
Once the transaction is complete and your lane is assigned, you’ll be able to see your Chicken in the Race Listings. Once the race is full with participants, it will get Scheduled and moved to Scheduled Races page. The prize pool is split between the top 3 finishers; 1st taking 55%, 2nd taking 30% & 3rd taking 15% of the pot.
Currently, the open beta has yet to include Chicken talents. There is no date for when talents like Black Hole and CK-47 will be live.
Where & How to Buy?
The 33K Chickens minted out last August as mentioned, you will need to head over to their official OpenSea page and shop for your Chicken there. Remember, each Chicken’s perfection score is important and will vary, but be sure to look at all other traits, etc.
The current floor price is .037 ETH, but as you can see below, some Chickens are garnering a lot more coin. With racing beginning last week, it will be interesting to see if these Chickens get some wings among NFT collectors, most NFT enthusiasts enjoy a good wager.
