Axie Infinity, which is known for its profitable monster play-to-earn game, just had a plot of land sell for millions of dollars in Ethereum. The plot sold for 550 ETH.

• As of press time, the sale is worth $2.25 million USD. Yesterday, the same sale was worth around $2.5 million. Ethereum dropped from $4,500 to $4,100 thanks to news about a new variant.
• The game is known for its profitable model play-to-earn model that provided an income for players in countries like the Philippines.
• Axie’s metaverse is an underreported aspect of the game’s growth. Axie is now positioned against other meta-world building games like Decentraland and The Sandbox, however, with a strong play-to-earn aspect as part of its foundation.
• Morgan Stanley said the other day that the metaverse has 56 billion dollar potential by 2030.
• As for other Axie Infinity news, Business Insider India notes that the game is showing slowed user growth. Part of the reason is worldwide inflation.
• Axie Infinity’s AXS token is trading down today, along with the rest of the market. AXS is trading in the $126 USD range, down 10% in the last 24 hours. However, AXS is still up almost 3% in the last 7 days. The overall market is down 7.5%.
