The Jordans Plan To Launch Heir Platform On Solana

The NBA legend Michael Jordan and his son Jeffrey Jordan are delving into Web 3.0. The Jordan’s have announced their first tech product Heir, a platform aimed to build a consumer-facing community connecting loyal fans to athletes built on the Solana blockchain.

A $10 million seed funding round for the parent firm Heir Inc. was led by Thrive Capital and included high profile investors such as Solana Ventures, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball.

The Heir platform is set to launch in 2022 and Jeffrey Jordan will co-lead the firm with Nike brand manager Jeron Smith and marketing consultant Daniel George. Jeffrey Jordan explained the idea behind Heir in a press statement:

“What HEIR INC. IS DEVELOPING IS PURPOSE-BUILT FOR A NEW ERA OF ATHLETE ENTERPRISE, OPENING THE DOOR FOR RICHER STORYTELLING AND DEEPER CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT”

What Is Heir And The HEIR Token

The platform Heir (“Heir”, like Air Jordan), a web 3.0 platform, will link athletes to their most dedicated and loyal fans. The platform plans to launch a native token that will be minted on Solana called the HEIR token. The token will be used for exclusive drops, NFTs, and joining a player’s “Huddle.”

This will lay out a direct path for fans of athletes to have an opportunity to participate in exclusive experiences and limited product releases. The press announcement sent to Bitcoin.com explained the following:

“[Heir] supporters will have the opportunity to purchase one-time digital assets or to join their ‘huddle,’ powered by blockchain technology, for exclusive drops, digital goods, immersive experiences, and more.”

Essentially, high-profile athletes will be able to use their “huddle” to reserve a spot for first access to sought-after NFT drops.

The Heir platform currently has a waiting-list.
