Paris Blockchain Week brings Web3 to the Louvre

Paris Blockchain Week returns for a 4th edition, this time bringing the best of blockchain and Web3 to Paris’ Carrousel du LOUVRE, the historic palace and world’s largest museum.

The ‘City of Love’ is also quickly turning out to be the ‘blockchain city’, with the next edition of blockchain-focused international event scheduled for 20th to 24th March, 2023.

The Paris Blockchain Week is Europe’s biggest industry event, first held in 2019. The latest chapter of the conference will see a host of industry personalities join more than 10,000 attendees from around the world in the French Capital.

As the event’s organisers told Invezz via a press release, for the 4th edition, the LOUVRE will host over 400 speakers from across decentralised finance (DeFi), NFTs, Web3 and the metaverse. 

The upcoming event has also attracted 300+ sponsors, about 60% of C-level+ executives and more than 400 media and journalists.

Other than the blockchain space’s brightest minds, the Paris Blockchain Week 2023 will bring together industry disrupters, leading investors and regulators.

Highlighting the lineup will be top blockchain industry personalities such as Draper Associates founder Tim Draper, Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao, Stellar Development Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon, Blockchain.com co-founder Nicolas Cary, Eva Kaili (the Vice President of the European Parliament) and Yat Siu, the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands.

There will also be The Sandbox co-founder and COO Sébastien Borget, Chiliz CEO Alexandre Dreyfus and Ira Auerbach, Senior VP, Head of Digital Assets at Nasdaq.

The PBW will involve two main events – a Blockchain Week Summit and an NFTVerse Day.

The Summit takes place over two days and will explore major blockchain technology topics, including Tech Builders, Public Policy, Enterprise Blockchain and Open Finance.

The one-day NFTverse event will focus on areas within the NFTs and Web3 universe, including Web3 Perspectives, Economy of the Metaverse, Technologies & Investments and Virtual Identity.

Among several fringe events will be the Talent Fair and the Paris Blockchain Week Hackathon.

In 2022, the 3rd edition of the Paris Blockchain Week took place from 13th to 14th April, at the Palais Brongniart (formerly French stock exchange). The conference attracted over 6000 participants and blockchain enthusiasts, with 300+ speakers, over 250 sponsors, and 400 media partners and journalists.

Changpeng Zhao, Sam Bankman-Fried, Brad Garlinghouse, and Ryan Selkis highlighted this year’s edition.

EverdreamSoft brings its SoG social hub to The Sandbox

Swiss-based game studio EverdreamSoft (EDS) that looks to promote blockchain and digital collectibles integration within the gaming ecosystem, has announced its Spells of Genesis (SoG) social hub on The Sandbox (SAND/USD).

Spells of Genesis is a pioneering mobile-based blockchain game, and part of EverdreamSoft’s growth within the Metaverse space. 

According to the game studio, SoG’s Askian Door is a social hub that will offer players the unique opportunity to enjoy a face-to-face experience with their favourite in-game characters.

The hub will be accessible via The Sandbox and see interactivity between players and the normally static game characters or game worlds reach a new level, the Swiss-based firm said in the announcement. 

As part of the experience in the hub, visitors to the Askian Door will have a chance to collect Satoshi Blocks – hidden within the SoG Metaverse – and use the quest to explore unique virtual locations.

EverdreamSoft will officially launch the social hub on 30 September, 2022.

The Sandbox is a play-to-earn (P2E) game that offers a metaverse bringing to users a virtual world underpinned by blockchain technology, decentralised finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Players in this world can create, customise and monetise their assets for SAND (the native token of The Sandbox) via its NFT marketplace. You can buy SAND on exchanges such as Binance and KuCoin.

Other than providing players a more interactive gaming environment, Spells of Genesis will also bring 10 new NFT collections to The Sandbox Marketplace. The NFTs are particularly significant given that participants have a chance to win rewards up to 500 SAND.

The challenge will run for 10 weeks and cut across more than 90 different experiences, with the rewards going to NFT holders who complete the quests in The Sandbox Alpha Season 3.
